Saarbrücken’s AI and digital assistant specialist SemVox has won the Car HMI Special Jury Award for 2017. The award ceremony took place on June 29, 2017 as part of Car HMI Europe 2017.
A jury of renowned international experts chose to honor the ODP Workbench and ODP S3, as its development process is fundamentally different from the previous approaches, allowing automatic tests during development, reducing development time and time to market launch, and thereby lowering development costs. As part of the awards ceremony at the Titanic Chaussee Hotel in Berlin, SemVox CEO Jochen Steigner accepted the jury’s special prize from the jury’s chairperson, Ronee Chadowitz (BMW Group).
Based on ODP S3, hybrid (embedded and cloud-based with seamless transition) interaction and assistance systems can be developed that not only receive and execute commands, but also proactively think about them. To achieve this, ODP S3 applies the latest AI technologies like Machine Learning and Reasoning. Our intelligent systems understand the context of a situation and support natural, intuitive and efficient interactions through continuous processing of the user input at the semantics level. ODP S3 allows the multimodal control of all on-board functions in the car with the highest degree of comfort and safety – intelligent, proactive and personalized.

From specification to dialogue creation to the roll-out on a target platform: ODP S3 interaction systems can be implemented in a uniform development environment. This makes the work easier for developers, makes the applications even more robust and shortens the time-to-market considerably. ODP S3 also serves as a runtime environment for dialog applications.
Different “dialog bundles” can be integrated on the target platform for different applications on various target platforms. This modular design guarantees a smooth exchange and efficient updating of individual dialog applications.
